Neil Anderson, former covert policing office, Counter Terrorism Command, Metropolitan Police
Additional panelists to be advised.

How does goal-setting and the desire to win create positive pressure, and a high-performance environment? Join your CFO peers and a panel of high performance experts from outside the cmmercial world for an engaging discussion on the lessons elite performers can teach Finance leaders. In this panel discussion, we’ll examine what drives elite performers both within and outside the business world to function at such a high level, and look at some of the lessons that can be applied in corporate life. We’ll also discuss the challenges of building cohesive teams in a dynamic, fast-changing world. We’ll be hearing from Brigadier Jaimie Norman, a Royal Marines officer who is Commander of UK Commando Force, the special operations capable commando formation comprising personnel from the Royal Marines, British Army and Royal Air Force. Jaimie has spent the bulk of his career leading military special forces, but also has broader experience, having previously served as Military Assistant to the Prime Minister. Jaimie will be joined by Neil Anderson - who until 2016 was a Chief Inspector in the Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism Command - for insights into leading indirect reports. Neil, an experienced police hostage negotiator, will outline how negotiation techniques can be applied in the business world to persuade and influence counterparties, both internal and external, and generate results. Neil has extensive leadership experience in high-stress environments, having been Public Order Commander during the 2011 London riots, and as a Firearms Commander. Neil can also draw on global leadership experience, having also worked in policing roles in Hong Kong, and North Africa, where he was Counter Terrorism Liasison Officer at the British Embassy in Tunis.

To be followed by a facilitated member discussion.

This session will commence with drinks, and will include light food.
